Being such a fan of the American bald eagle, seeing and photographing an African fish eagle was pretty high on my list of “wants” when I traveled to South Africa. They are relatively common along the rivers in Kruger National Park. I had seen a few, but had not gotten any photos that I was excited about when we came across this one, perched in beautiful morning light against a nice background. It really cooperated and took off directly into the morning sun for me, giving me the photo I was hoping for.
