Antelope Fog
Antelope Lake in Plumas County, California is one of my favorite places. It is the home to the bald eagles that I frequently photograph, and is a really fun lake to fish in a kayak also. In the spring and fall, when the water temperature is higher than the air temperature, it produces some amazing fog that hangs out in the “bowl” of mountains around the lake until the sun burns it off. This shot was taken from my favorite kayak launching point, as the fog is beginning to lift. The mountain that is just visible above the fog are what makes this shot work in my opinion.
