Brown Bear With Salmon
This is an image I really wanted to capture. I thought that brown bears carried fish like this fairly regularly, but it turns out that most of the time as soon as they catch one, they turn it and hold it by the head. This way when the fish thrashes around, all that movement doesn’t really affect the bear or create the risk of dropping the fish. So catching this moment (especially before things got messy) was not easy. It was a rare moment when this bear caught this fish, and carried it like this to a different part of the river, looking back at another bear to make sure it wasn’t going to give chase and attempt to seal the meal.
