Young African lions seem to have the knowledge that they are free to recreate without much worry, protected by a group of the most feared predators on the continent. Mom is always on high alert, allowing her young ones to get distracted by bugs or the movement of another adult’s tail. It’s not an easy life, but it seems much easier than the childhood of a typical prey species.
