Immeasurably More

Four months after I took my bucket list northern lights trip to Alaska in February 2024, I found out that it had been a “practice run.” The largest solar storm in recorded history unleashed an aurora display that was visible in far-reaching southern places in the northern hemisphere, and in far northern areas of the southern hemisphere. Having been educated on the forecasting models in Alaska, I took the forecast seriously, and undertook a bit of an adventure to get high up on Diamond Mountain, in the hopes of shooting the northern lights over my little hometown of Susanville. What happened that night was “immeasurably more than anything I could ask or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20)
